Wilde Stories returns to RTÉ Lyric fm from Sunday September 17th at 6pm for 5 weeks, is a unique artistic collaboration between producers Athena Media and two artists, composer Michael Gallen and visual artist Felicity Clear. The series reveals Oscar Wilde, his life and work, through the prism of his fairytales and the series is narrated by Irish actor Robert Sheehan who also reads the story The Happy Prince which opens this series.

Wilde’s only grandson Merlin Holland is a central contributor to the series and he gives witness to both the personal and family tragedy that underscores Wilde’s work and life. Other readings are performed by Irish actors Lauren Coe and Brian Gleeson and the Wilde Stories website provides a portal to text, audio, music and artwork.

The series has been recognised by both the Celtic Media Festival (for its digital innovation) and at the New York Radio Festival (for its art documentary work) and the film of Felicity’s artwork, accompanied by Michael Gallen music, has now been selected by the Dublin International Short Film and Music Festival which takes place from the 6th-8th of October 2017.
